Once you have used the 'indicator' to find TDC, check for a valve clearance. I check by holding the adjuster nut between finger and thumb and trying to move the rocker arm up and down. As I have already said before, it's a tiny gap you are checking and easily missed if you don't know what you are feeling for.
I think it is very unlikly that you have no clearance at all on all four valves. However, if you can't feel any clearance, this might be what the problem is. If this is the problem, get it sorted out as soon as possible - running with no clearance will burn the valves causing expensive engine damage.
